James ethan weeks
Mr. Weeks became an attorney when he realized that there was a shortage of attorneys in his hometown of Walnut Ridge. He attended law school in Little Rock at UALR, Bowen School of Law, where he graduated with honors. During his time there, he focused his studies on both estate planning/elder law and bankruptcy. However, he also took care to study a wide variety areas of the law in order to get prepared to handle issues involving contract law, property law, personal injury cases, criminal law, and family law.
Mr. Weeks also worked as a law clerk for small practices in Little Rock, learning the inner-workings of a law practice while handling a variety of legal issues giving him invaluable experience in handling diverse legal matters.
As a response to the role technology plays in the modern legal office, Mr. Weeks sought out a mentor in the legal technology field and was fortunate enough to learn about cutting edge tools and approaches from an attorney who is nationally recognized in the legal technology field.
As student, Mr. Weeks recognized that there was a need for more awareness of the opportunities for new attorneys to build practices in small towns. In order to address that need, Mr. Weeks founded and served as the first president of The Finch Society, a student organization that has been fortunate enough to be so well-received in its first two years of existence that it was named best new organization and most outstanding organization in its first year and most outstanding organization in its second year. The success of the first chapter of Finch as led to other law schools establishing its own chapters.
In part because of his work with the Finch Society, Mr. Weeks received a leadership award from the Student Bar Association in his final year of law school.
